Driver briefing and consent forms

Hull Karting takes all drivers safety very seriously and are also a certified and approved member of the National Karting Association (NKA). We meet all of their guidelines for karting.

Driver safety briefing

Before you can enjoy the fun and excitement of go kart racing, all drivers must watch, in full, the National Karting Association safety briefing video, immediately before attending any event at Hull Karting.

Watch the ‘NKA briefing and safety’ video on YouTube

Parents and legal guardians of under 18s attending Hull Karting events are responsible for ensuring that their daughter/son/guardian has watched the National Karting Association briefing and safety video, and that they watched it along with them to ensure that they fully understood all  of the instructions, information and advice in the video, immediately before attending an Hull Karting event.

The safety video must be watched before every event by drivers.

Consent forms

All drivers at Hull Karting must also download and complete (in full, with all details required) the relevant age appropriate consent form, and sign to say they will complete the on-site Health and Safety induction. They must confirm that they have watched and fully understood the ‘National Karting Association briefing and safety’ video, immediately before attending, and that they fully understand and accept that go karting and motor sports are inherently dangerous activities

Consent forms for drivers under the age of 18 must be signed by both the young person and their parent or legal guardian.  The parent/guardian must confirm that they are the legal guardian of the young person, that they acknowledge the risks of motor sport, and that they consent to them participating in go karting and motor sport activities at Hull Karting, East Hull Wheels, and understand that they are exposed to potential serious injury, disablement and potential loss of life.

Parents/guardians of drivers under 18 years of age must confirm that, immediately before attending Hull Karting, the driver has watched, in full, the ‘National Karting Association briefing and safety’ video and understand all of the instructions and information.

Parents/guardians must also consent to signing the driver’s form on their attendance at Hull Karting to participate in motor sports and go karting.

Drivers must then attend Hull Karting with their completed consent form. They will undertake a further ‘Pit lane health and safety briefing’ and check before they will be allowed to drive.

If at any point during the process the staff at Hull Karting believe a driver has not undertaken and watched the ‘National Karting Association briefing and safety video’ in full, or that the driver does not fully understand the instructions or information, the driver’s session will be terminated immediately* for the driver’s safety and that of the other drivers and staff.

Any drivers during the session that are deemed to be driving dangerously to either themselves or our drivers/staff will also have their session terminated immediately*

If you have any issues or want further advice, support or guidance with regards to the NKA safety video or briefing, please contact us before your event.
